Why is SEO so important for your coaching business?

Here are 5 reasons why SEO matters so much:

1| Increase Web Traffic

One of the main goals of a business owner is to increase your web traffic through SEO. You want to attract people to your website in order to showcase your products and services and make a sale. Without a way to draw people to your website, no one will ever know you exist. If you are not appearing on the first 2 pages of a search result, no one will know you are there let alone your business.

Paying attention to your SEO strategy and using Keywords will address this issue. Not only, are you using keywords that a prospective client is searching for on Google, but your content is providing the exact solution to their problem. This is the perfect scenario you want to see happen. The goal is to appear at the top, to rank as close to one as you can, if not one.

2| ROI (Return on Investment)

This is my favorite part of all the points especially for a small business on a tight budget. Using keywords across your website will increase web traffic. It will also increase your return on investment. Say what? Yes. You don't have to spend money on ads (unless you want to).

Here is an example. Let's say Lisa in London does a search for life coaches and you're a life coach in the US. While you're in lalaland, your website is working for you! Your website appears on Lisa's search, which was completed on a whole other continent! Lisa falls in love with you and decides to book a session! Did you do anything? Nope, only that your website was optimized for SEO and you ranked higher as a result of it!

So, if you're selling products or services, prospective clients are finding your website! and engaging with your content. Why, because what you have to offer addresses their needs. Look at it as free advertisement and marketing that is constantly working for you 24/7.

3| Your Competition Is Doing It

Ok, it will be silly not to take this part seriously. Your competitors are using keywords and optimizing their websites to rank at the top. An effective SEO strategy is why their sales are increasing. Why they are able to book more clients, and why they have brand awareness. Why shouldn't you benefit from that? I think you absolutely should.

Don't be left behind. You too can compete along the same lines as your competitors. You have to commit to optimizing your website on desktop as well as mobile and doing it right. This is a long-term strategy that comes with having an online business.

4| Brand Awareness

When your website appears in the top ranking of a search engine result, it gives your business brand recognization and awareness. that you are looking for. Think about it. I do a search and your business appears at the top of my search. My first thought is, this is exactly what I'm looking for and I'll more likely click on your link to check it out. Isn't that what we want?

To be at the top of a prospective client's search is what you want. Your website showing up and addressing their query all because you have the keywords on your website and your content is optimized for SEO. Not only is your SEO working for you, but your content is shared and referred to by other websites! Now that is what I'm talking about!

5| The Importance of Google

Google has become part of our everyday lives. As people quote "Amazon" in reference to being able to find just about anything there, Google has it too. "Google it" is what people say.

Google as a search engine literally dominates all searches on desktop (87%) and mobile (95%). That is absolutely CRAZY! but that is the truth too. I do all my searches on Google and I'm, sure you do too.

With this is mind, think about all people doing searches every day on Google, Bing to name a few. If your website is not optimized using SEO techniques, you need to get on the bag-wagon. This is free marketing for your business. The potential to increase your web traffic and sales are increased. You too can take advantage of this powerful search engine!

Your goal is to appear in the top 10 search results ( pages 1 and 2). Anything further than that, you're not likely going to be seen. Your prospective client will not keep scrolling through pages 4, 5..7...etc looking for an answer to their queries. Instead, they will opt to refine their search and see what else appears at the top.

This is why using keywords and optimizing your website can benefit your business when you use a search engine like Google. You have to do the work to increase your ranking and attract clients.

To do this effectively, you have to write great content. Structure your website in a way that a search engine can read it and display it in a search result. Yes, you have to do your part to make this happen.

Final Thoughts

The thought of SEO can be daunting to a lot of small business owners, but it doesn't have to be. I've shared reasons to start thinking about optimizing your website for SEO and ranking higher on a search engine.

An effective strategy can help your business increase web traffic. Convert visitors to paying clients. Increase name recognition, get free online marketing and so much more. SEO is an important player to help you reach your business goals!

You're probably thinking where should you start, great question! First, you need to start with a website audit. You have to know where you're now and how to proceed forward.

There are several platforms you can check out. My personal favorite is Ubersuggest. I find it easy to understand without being too overwhelmed with numbers and graphs if you know what I mean. Here is a summary below:

What you can do:

  1. Choose a platform and see how your website is doing

  2. Do a website site audit

  3. Fix all issues that are raised

Another option is to hire someone who can assist you with this. I offer an SEO service to assist my clients with keyword research and to rank higher on search engines. You can book a free consultation if you are interested.

Do you think your business will benefit from SEO? I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Leave a comment below.
